Who is on a sugar detox-depression after the holidays?  We certainly are! It’s so hard not to come crashing down after all the holiday treats, family time, and relaxation.  The first few weeks of the year can be such a hard shock to your system, but the New Year is also so full of possibilities and promise.  So this week we say stop slumming around and aim for the SKY!

The team at PL has been inspired by the SKY, and this week we want you to be too!  Although the SKY is something we so often take for granted, its limitlessness and immeasurability can be reminders about our own potentials.  Oftentimes we associate the SKY with the richness and stability of blue, and we neglect to imagine the softness and subtly brought on in its more tender and ephemeral moments—the pinks of the sunrise and sunset.  While the team at PL undoubtedly loves a sunny blue sky, the secret sweetness of the light pink SKY immeasurably inspires us to find and hold onto those more tender and subtle moments in our every day lives.  That’s why this season the team at PL chose to highlight pink SKY as one of our favorite winter colors.  In the midst of this LA deep-freeze, we love the warmth that SKY can give.  And, these days it seems like these warm moments are all around us…new babies and baby showers, wedding days and bridal parties, an extra long hug in the morning before school, a bigger smile, an extra loud laugh…So, this week don’t let the detox-winter depression overwhelm you…soak up these memorable moments inspired by the SKY instead!

It’s Movember…the month formerly known as November!  And that means the sudden manifestation of moustaches on many men’s faces.  These men, known as Mo Bros, begin the month clean-shaven growing and grooming their whiskers over the course of the month to raise awareness for men’s health issues. The tradition began in Melbourne, Australia but has quickly become a global moustache movement, with men and women from hundreds of cities across the world participating in the facial hair phenomenon.  As the moustache men become walking, talking billboards for men’s health issues, such as testicular and prostate cancer, many more women join their ranks donning fake facial hair or sporting moustache-inspired jewelry to show their support for the men in their lives.  This month the team at PL joins these Mo Bros in raising awareness for men’s health in honor of all men—our sons, our fathers, our husbands, our brothers, and our friends.
